The 19th Pitilla Festival

The 19th edition of the Pitilla Festival took place on Monday, August 18, 2025, starting in the evening, in the setting of Parco Sant'Anna in Specchia Gallone (Minervino di Lecce, Province of Lecce). In 2025, the pitilla—a flat bread of Arab origin kneaded with water and flour and baked in a stone oven—was once again the true star, served hot and garnished with peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, anchovies, and ricotta forte.

Alongside the traditional bread, the stands offered meat sandwiches, french fries, and pittule, while the evening was enlivened by Salento folk music, pizzica, DJ sets, karaoke, and group dances. The charitable initiative of the Fratres Group was also confirmed: free pitilla and a drink for those who had donated blood at transfusion centers in the province of Lecce, in support of the culture of donation. Admission to the festival was free.
