Edition 2025 — Pirilla Festival

The 2025 edition of the Pirilla Festival, the thirty-third, took place in Ortelle on August 17 and 18. Two evenings dedicated to the traditional peasant bread of Ortelle, baked in stone ovens and served with tomatoes and oil or stuffed with savory meat, featuring food stalls and live music organized by the Pro Loco Ippocampo with the patronage of the Municipality.

The 33rd Pirilla Festival

On August 17 and 18, 2025, Ortelle hosted the thirty-third edition of the Pirilla Festival, confirming its status as one of the longest-running and most beloved food festivals in the province of Lecce. For two evenings, the town center came alive with food stalls dedicated to pirilla, the typical bread baked in stone ovens and served warm in its most traditional versions: seasoned with fresh tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil or stuffed with savory meat chunks.

Alongside the tastings, the event offered live music and entertainment for all ages, in a popular festive atmosphere that attracted numerous visitors from Salento. The organization was managed as usual by the Pro Loco Ippocampo with the patronage of the Municipality of Ortelle, just a few days after the patron saint festivities of San Giorgio and San Fortunato.

Programme

The 33rd edition was held over two evenings, August 17 and 18, 2025, with the opening of food stalls dedicated to pirilla in its various versions (seasoned with tomatoes and oil or stuffed with savory meat) and evenings of live music in the town center. The full list of artists in the lineup was not released online.
