Science at the Bar

Pint of Science is an international science communication festival with an idea that is as simple as it is effective: to bring researchers out of universities and into pubs, to talk about their work with anyone who wants to listen, perhaps over a beer. Born in the UK, the event is held simultaneously in dozens of cities around the world, and in Milan (Province of Milan, Lombardy) it is now an eagerly awaited event in mid-May.

Three Evenings, Seven Pubs

The 2026 edition takes place from May 18 to 20 in seven venues in the city: Ostello Bello Grande, 10gradinord, Triple Craft Beer, Hug, Alibi Music & Spirits, Union Club, and OFF/Flavour. Every evening, in each venue, researchers will offer talks designed for a non-specialist audience, in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

What We're Talking About

The topics range across the frontiers of contemporary science: neutrinos and dark matter, artificial intelligence, microbiomes, aging, psychedelics, and even sugar. A journey into current research that touches on physics, biology, medicine, and technology, always with clear and engaging language.

Who's Behind It

The event, in its eleventh Italian edition, is made possible thanks to the contribution of universities and research institutions, including Humanitas University, Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, INFN (National Institute for Nuclear Physics), and INAF (National Institute for Astrophysics). Admission is free, although some evenings may require booking.
