The farmhouse that becomes a concert hall

Mare Culturale Urbano, in the Cascina Torrette space at Via Quinto Cenni 11 (Municipality 6, Gallaratese/San Siro area, west of Milan), is one of the venues for the city-wide festival Piano City Milano. A restored farmhouse that has become a neighborhood cultural hub hosts free piano concerts for the occasion, in an informal and welcoming setting.

The concerts

Among the confirmed performances at Cascina Torrette are concerts by Ryota Kikuchi (4:00 PM), Davide Santacolomba (6:00 PM), and Giacomo and Marzo Zorzi with Piotr Paduszyński (7:00 PM). An afternoon of music spanning different styles and generations, from classical repertoire to contemporary sounds.

Inside Piano City Milano 2026

This event is part of Piano City Milano 2026 (May 15-17), the sixteenth edition of the city-wide festival that brings over 250 free concerts to more than 140 venues across the city. The event is promoted by the Piano City Milano Association together with the Municipality of Milan (Province of Milan, Lombardy), with the aim of making the piano a shared experience in every neighborhood, including peripheral areas like the border between Gallaratese and San Siro.

Mare Culturale Urbano, a reborn farmhouse

Mare Culturale Urbano is one of Milan's most interesting cultural regeneration projects: a historic farmhouse in the western area, Cascina Torrette, has been restored and transformed into a hub hosting concerts, shows, dining, workshops, and co-working spaces. Hosting Piano City in this location means combining two similar experiences: on one hand, a city-wide festival that brings music to neighborhoods, and on the other, a space that uses culture as a tool for territorial redevelopment. For the public, it's an opportunity to discover a vibrant and welcoming reality, immersed in a peripheral yet dynamic context, and to listen to good music in an informal and familiar atmosphere, typical of Milanese farmhouses.
