Five Fridays of celebration in the heart of Piacenza
The Piacentini Fridays are the main cultural, tourist, and commercial event of the Municipality of Piacenza, in Emilia-Romagna. For five consecutive Fridays, spanning the end of June and the first half of July, the city's historic center transforms into an immense open-air stage: over 200 free events and more than 300 shops open until midnight fill the squares, streets, and gardens enclosed by the ancient Farnese walls with music, shows, and people.
The heart of the event beats in the city's main squares. Piazza Cavalli, Piacenza's monumental living room with the Palazzo Gotico, is the hub of the main events; Piazza Duomo, Piazza Borgo, Piazza Sant'Antonino, and numerous small squares and gardens simultaneously host concerts, shows, art installations, and food and wine offerings. The formula is that of a large, widespread event: you stroll freely from one square to another, discovering a different initiative at every corner.
The offering is deliberately diverse, designed for all ages and tastes. Among the protagonists of the evenings, you will find:
Over the years, some events have become true cult favorites, such as the Gran Galร del Pattinaggio Artistico (Artistic Skating Grand Gala), which attracts thousands of spectators, and the famous Radio Sound quiz show, a participatory event much loved by the public.
Conceived and produced by the agency Blacklemon in collaboration with the Municipality of Piacenza, the Piacentini Fridays were born in 2011 and have established themselves as one of the most important territorial marketing formats in Emilia-Romagna. With a peak of tens of thousands of attendees in a single evening and a significant economic impact on local commerce, the event has become the symbolic appointment of the Piacenza summer, an opportunity to rediscover the historic center and experience it at night.
The new edition of the Piacentini Fridays takes place over five consecutive Fridays: June 19 and 26, July 3, 10, and 17, 2026. This year again, Piacenza's historic center hosts over 200 free events and more than 300 shops open until midnight.
The big new feature for the 2026 edition is wrestling, making its debut in the prestigious setting of Piazza Cavalli. Also returning are cult events like the Gran Galร del Pattinaggio Artistico and the famous Radio Sound quiz show. These are joined by concerts, shows, street food, artistic performances, cultural initiatives, sports activities, open museums, and installations distributed throughout the center.
