About Philosophers of Summer

Filosofi d'estate is the open-air philosophy review of the Municipality of Misano Adriatico, in the Province of Rimini. The summer sister of the "Philosophers under the Stars" series, it brings leading thinkers, writers, and intellectuals to the squares and gardens of the Romagna town for free evenings of reflection open to all. Curated by Gustavo Cecchini, each edition follows a thematic thread: in 2026 the title is "Know Thyself. The Time of Fragility", with Franco Arminio, Vera Gheno, and Michela Marzano.

A Philosophy Review on the Rimini Riviera

Filosofi d'estate is the cultural event that, every summer, transforms the squares and gardens of Misano Adriatico into places for shared thought. Promoted by the Municipality of Misano Adriatico, in the Province of Rimini, and curated by Gustavo Cecchini, the review is the natural summer continuation of the "Philosophers under the Stars" series, which has animated the cultural life of the Romagna town for years with free evening encounters dedicated to the great themes of existence.

The 2026 Theme: The Time of Fragility

The 2026 edition is titled "Know Thyself. The Time of Fragility" and is divided into three itinerant events, from June 25th to 27th. The first two evenings are held in the setting of Piazza Colombo in Portoverde, a charming nautical village overlooking the port; the third in the intimate Library Garden. The review opens with the poet and writer Franco Arminio with "The Grace of Fragility"; followed by the linguist Vera Gheno with "Fortunately I Am Fragile" and the philosopher Michela Marzano with "Fragile Together: Adults and Adolescents?".

A Tradition of Great Guests

Over the years, the review has hosted some of the most renowned voices in Italian thought, from Umberto Galimberti to Massimo Cacciari, from Piergiorgio Odifreddi to Adriana Cavarero, up to Enzo Bianchi and Lucrezia Ercoli. Each evening offers an accessible lecture-performance, capable of intertwining philosophy, current events, and daily life, aimed at both enthusiasts and those approaching these topics for the first time.

What to Expect

  • Open-air evening encounters, generally starting at 9:15 PM
  • Free admission and open until capacity is reached
  • Prominent national speakers among philosophers, writers, and communicators
  • Evocative locations between the port of Portoverde and the center of Misano

Misano Adriatico, Between Sea and Culture

Known primarily as a seaside resort on the Romagna Riviera and for the Misano World Circuit, Misano Adriatico also asserts a cultural vocation with this review: an offering that invites residents and tourists to pause, listen, and reflect, gifting the Emilia-Romagna summer a slow and quality moment.
