Pesaro Clam Festival

The inaugural 2026 edition of the Pesaro Clam Festival takes place from Thursday, June 4th to Saturday, June 6th, between the Washington Patrignani Maritime Museum (June 4-5) and the port of Pesaro, on Calata Caio Duilio (June 6th).

The event is promoted by the Municipality of Pesaro with the support of the GALPA Marche call (FEAMPA) and the collaboration of Visit Pesaro, Fondazione Pescheria, Confcommercio Marche Nord, Associazione Ristoratori Pesaro Urbino, and the Port Authority. The objective is to enhance the "Purassa" and the city's maritime identity through culture, science, gastronomy, and music.

Thursday, June 4th — Maritime Museum

• 5:30 PM — Official presentation of the event
• 6:00 PM — Seminar "The Purassa Clam: Gastronomic and Cultural Heritage of the Territory", a scientific in-depth session

Friday, June 5th — Maritime Museum and city centre

• Morning — Guided tours "The Clam Tells the Sea" by Prof. Maria Lucia De Nicolò and reading workshops "From the Depths of the Sea" with Stefania Lanari (Le Foglie d'Oro bookshop), particularly aimed at schools
• 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM — City itinerary "On the Trail of the Sea": Duomo mosaics, Fountain in Piazza del Popolo, and Pescheria Visual Arts Centre (reservations +39 338 2629372)
• 7:00 PM — Choral talk "Let's Go Clamming!" with fishermen, chefs, restaurateurs, experts, and photographers
• 7:00 PM — Opening of the food stalls dedicated to the Purassa
• 8:00 PM — Adriatic traditional folk sea shanties with the association "La Canta" of Cattolica
• 9:30 PM — Live concert by Swingarella

Saturday, June 6th — Port of Pesaro, Calata Caio Duilio

• 10:00 AM — "La Purassa in Mare": excursion aboard the motor ship Queen Elisabeth following a clam boat, to witness fishing activities (reservations required +39 339 6848787)
• 7:00 PM — Talk "Let's Go Clamming!" and opening of the food stalls
• Evening — Music and entertainment at the port

Stall Menu (at popular prices): clams marinara style, fried in a cone (clams and Ascolana-style fish), polenta with clams and chickpeas, passatelli with clams and chickpeas, spaghetti with clams, clam and chickpea soup with toasted bread, local desserts and wines.

Where

The days of June 4th and 5th take place at the Washington Patrignani Maritime Museum, Villa Molaroni, Viale Pola 9, Pesaro (PU). On June 6th, the festival moves to the port of Pesaro, on Calata Caio Duilio and the Molo di Levante.

How to get there

By train: Pesaro station on the Adriatic line, a short distance from the centre and the seaside area. By car: take the Pesaro-Urbino exit of the A14 motorway, then follow signs for the centre and the seafront. By plane: Rimini Airport or Marche Airport in Falconara Marittima, both connected to Pesaro.

Times and admission

Free admission to activities; food and drinks are payable at the stalls, at popular prices. The stalls open from 7:00 PM. For the sea excursion "La Purassa in Mare" on June 6th, reservations are required (tel. +39 339 6848787); for the city itinerary on June 5th, reservations at +39 338 2629372.
