Gastronomy and dancing at the foot of Pietra Perduca, in Val Trebbia
The Perduca Festival is one of the most beloved summer events in the Municipality of Travo, in the province of Piacenza, in the heart of Val Trebbia. The event takes place in an equipped area a short walk from the oratory of Sant'Anna, in the enchanting landscape of Pietra Perduca, where the cool forest air offers an ideal refuge from the summer heat and provides panoramic views of the valley and the Emilian Apennines.
The festival takes its name from Pietra Perduca, an imposing ophiolitic outcrop on which the small church of Sant'Anna stands, built with local stone around the year 1000. At the top, there are two basins carved into the rock in prehistoric times, always filled with water that neither freezes in winter nor evaporates in summer, inhabited by a rare species of newts. It is a place full of charm and legends, a destination for excursions and guided tours that make it one of the most fascinating natural attractions in the Piacenza area.
The heart of the festival is traditional Piacenza gastronomy, with specialties cooked on the grill and served at the stands managed by the volunteers of the Amici della Perduca association. You can dine outdoors, immersed in nature, enjoying local traditional dishes accompanied by wines from the Colli Piacentini. Each evening is enlivened by live music and dancing: from evenings with a DJ to folk orchestras, in a friendly and festive atmosphere that attracts many visitors from the city and nearby towns every year.
The 2026 edition of the Perduca Festival is scheduled from Friday, July 24th to Sunday, July 26th. The three evenings feature music and dancing: Friday evening is hosted by Sergino Dj, Saturday is for dancing with the Maccagni orchestra, and Sunday with Gianni and the Liscio Band, while the food stands are available throughout the festival with grilled specialties of Piacenza cuisine.
The Perduca Festival is a classic Emilia-Romagna village festival: simple, authentic, and deeply connected to the territory. Between courses and dancing, it is the perfect opportunity to discover a little-known corner of Val Trebbia, walk to the oratory of Sant'Anna, and experience the genuine hospitality of the Travo community.
The Perduca Festival 2026 returns from July 24th to 26th in the Municipality of Travo, Val Trebbia. The three days of festivities are confirmed with food stands dedicated to Piacenza specialties cooked on the grill, and evenings of live music and outdoor dancing, in the natural setting of Pietra Perduca.
