About Perdifolk

Perdifolk is Cilento's unique simultaneous concert event: on a late August evening, the historic center of Perdifumo, in the province of Salerno, transforms into a widespread stage. Three village squares โ€” Piazzale della Posta, Piazza Guglielmini, and Piazza del Municipio โ€” host concerts and comedy shows simultaneously, while the audience moves freely between stages. Expect Neapolitan rock and neo-folk, singer-songwriters, stand-up comedy, traditional Cilento products, and a late-night jam session to wrap up the evening.

Perdifolk, the simultaneous concert of Cilento

Perdifolk is a musical festival that, on a late August evening, turns the historic center of Perdifumo, a small town in the province of Salerno, Campania, into a vast, open-air stage. The concept is that of a simultaneous concert: artists perform without breaks on multiple natural stages set up in the village squares, while the audience chooses where to be, wandering freely from one corner of the town to another. There is no single stage to watch, but rather a journey to experience.

Three squares, three natural stages

Performances are spread across the most iconic spots of the ancient center: Piazzale della Posta, dominated by the bell tower; Piazza Guglielmini, with its historic fountain and palace; and Piazza del Municipio, the beating heart of the village. These are complemented by hidden corners and secret spots used for surprise mini-gigs, such as the panoramic balcony overlooking the Cilento hills. The distance between stages is just a few steps: in a matter of minutes, you can transition from an intimate singer-songwriter set to a stand-up comedy show.

Rock, Neapolitan neo-folk, and comedy

The artistic direction focuses primarily on rock and Neapolitan neo-folk, with ample space for Campanian singer-songwriters and emerging local talent. Alongside the music, comedy is an integral part of the format: stand-up comedians and storytellers alternate with the concerts, keeping the evening dynamic. Over the years, artists such as Roberto Colella of La Maschera, Valerio Jovine, Tommaso Primo, and Lelio Morra have graced the squares of Perdifumo.

  • Simultaneous concerts across three village squares
  • Stand-up comedy and storytelling between sets
  • Late-night jam session with guests and open mic space
  • Tasting points featuring traditional Cilento products
  • Free admission for all editions held to date

The night that closes the evening

After the scheduled performances, Perdifolk doesn't stop: an open jam session kicks off in the main square, featuring special guests and an open mic space for musicians and visitors alike. It is the most informal moment of the event, where artists who have just stepped off the stage return to play together until late into the night.

Perdifumo, a village in the Cilento hinterland

Perdifumo sits at an altitude of about 400 meters, on the hills separating the Cilento coast from the interior, within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park. It is a town of a few thousand inhabitants, characterized by narrow alleys, noble palaces, and panoramic terraces from which, on clear days, you can glimpse the sea. This intimate scale is exactly what makes the simultaneous concert format possible: the entire village becomes the concert hall, and the walk between stages is part of the show itself.

Who organizes Perdifolk

The event is organized by the Pro Loco Perdifumo e Frazioni, in collaboration with key players in the Campanian music scene such as SoundFly Records, Full Heads Records, Camella srl, Graf srl, and Acta Progetti. Recent editions have been sponsored by the Municipality of Perdifumo, the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, and the Province of Salerno.

When it takes place

Perdifolk is traditionally held on a late August evening, starting around 8:00 PM: the fourth edition took place on Friday, August 30, 2024, and the fifth on Friday, August 29, 2025. The dates for the next edition have not yet been announced by the organizers: to find out the program, it is best to follow the official social media channels of the festival and the Pro Loco.
