The multicultural festival of integration in Pieve Emanuele
In Pieve Emanuele, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Milan south of the capital, the Festa dei Popoli has become the symbol of a community that makes coexistence and integration a shared value. The image that best tells its story is that of different peoples sitting at the same table, sharing food, music, and traditions.
The festival is a journey through cultures: multicultural gastronomy brings typical dishes from many countries to the table, while traditional dances and costumes liven up the day with the colors of the various communities. From Italy to Ukraine, from Venezuela to Kurdistan, each group contributes its own part, in a climate of exchange and mutual understanding. Among the protagonists is also the Union of Italo-Kurdish Women (UDIK).
More than just a festival, the Festa dei Popoli is an occasion for dialogue: a moment when differences become richness and when the community of Pieve Emanuele recognizes itself in its plurality. Activities for families and convivial moments act as a glue for a day designed to build bridges between people of different backgrounds.
Organized by the Municipality of Pieve Emanuele with the involvement of volunteer associations and foreign communities in the area, the Festa dei Popoli has free admission and is one of the events that best tell the welcoming identity of this municipality in the Milan hinterland.
The 2026 edition of the Festa dei Popoli in Pieve Emanuele is scheduled for May 30, 2026. The event celebrates diversity and integration with shared food, dances, and costumes from many nationalities—from Italy to Ukraine, Venezuela to Kurdistan—and with the participation of volunteer associations and foreign communities from the area.
Detailed hourly program will be announced by the Municipality closer to the event.
Pieve Emanuele (MI) is located south of Milan, along the SS Vigentina. It is served by the train station on the S13 suburban line (Milan-Pavia) and by several bus lines.
The festival takes place at the end of May, outdoors and in the spaces of the Oratorio Paolo VI, in Via Strauss.
Free admission; food tastings are paid.
