Every year, on the evocative Pentecost Sunday, the Corpo Filarmonico Cannobiese brings the central Piazza Lago (Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III) to life with an open-air evening concert, now firmly established as one of the lakeside town's most beloved traditions.

The Corpo Filarmonico Cannobiese

The star of the evening is the Corpo Filarmonico Cannobiese, Cannobio's historic brass band, an amateur group deeply rooted in the town's social and cultural life. Conducted by Maestro Daniele Grassi, the band has for years accompanied the community's main civic and religious milestones: from patronal feasts to celebrations for Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music, as well as the seasonal concerts that mark the local calendar. The Pentecost Concert is one of its most important public performances, a chance to share the work they have prepared throughout the year with the community.

Open-air music by the lake

The setting is the spectacular square overlooking Lake Maggiore, where the sunset creates the perfect atmosphere for listening. The concert repertoire follows the best Italian band traditions: marches, concert pieces, film score arrangements, and light music, all designed to engage a broad and diverse audience, from families to visitors vacationing on the lake.
