Walking together for peace

The Peace March is one of the most heartfelt events of the Peace&Sport program of Municipality 4 in Milan. It is not a simple demonstration, but a collective walk that involves all the schools in the area along with the citizens, with a clear message of peace, hope, and sharing.

From two starting points

The march begins from Parco Vittorio Formentano (gathering at 8:15 AM and starting at 9:00 AM) and from Largo Gonzaga, bringing together students, teachers, families, and residents along the route. It is a moment that gives concrete form to the values that inspire the entire Peace&Sport project, focusing on the new generations.

Inside the Peace&Sport project

Now in its fourth edition, the Peace March is part of the Peace&Sport 2026 program of Municipality 4 in Milan (Province of Milan, Lombardy), created in collaboration with the association OUTSIDE. Throughout the year, the program promotes a culture of peace through sport, music, and community activities, and this march represents its symbolic heart, capable of engaging thousands of students from the area.

An educational experience for schools

What distinguishes the Peace March is the strong involvement of the school world: classes in Municipality 4 in Milan work in the preceding weeks on themes related to peace, coexistence, and solidarity, and then parade together with banners, drawings, and messages prepared by the students. For the children, it is not a simple walk, but an educational and civic experience that gives substance to values often only stated. Walking side by side, different schools and citizens of all ages, through the streets of the neighborhood, becomes a collective gesture that leaves a mark and strengthens the sense of belonging to a community that chooses peace as a common horizon.
