The most evocative and distinctive moment of the festival takes place at dawn on June 24th, the day dedicated to the patron saint. At the first light of day, around 4:45 AM, the traditional baptism ritual is held along the banks of the Liri River, accompanied by Holy Mass. It is an ancient ceremony, deeply rooted in the symbolism of water and the figure of San Giovanni Battista, drawing both the faithful and curious onlookers into a solemn, intimate atmosphere. Following this, at 7:30 AM, the procession winds through the town streets, accompanied by the marching bands of Civitella Roveto and Celano.

Alongside the devotional aspect, the Patronal Feast offers a rich musical program that brings nationally renowned artists to Piazza San Giovanni each year.
