The celebrations for the patrons of Barni in the Larian Triangle
The Patronal Feast of Saints Peter and Paul celebrates the patron saints of Barni, a village in the Larian Triangle in the province of Como. Around the June 29th anniversary, the community gathers for solemn Masses, Eucharistic days, concerts, and social gatherings organized by the parish and the Pro Loco. The liturgical feast falls on June 29th and sparks days of celebration that blend religious devotion with community spirit. The festival is held on the weekend closest to the date, this year on June 27-28.
The program opens with the inauguration of the Romanesque church of Saints Peter and Paul on Saturday, June 27th at 8:30 PM, following the restoration of its frescoes. This will be followed by a vocal concert by the Visino Choir, conducted by Maestro Giana. On Sunday, June 28th, the Mass featuring the traditional 'faro' rite in honor of the patron saints will be held at 10:00 AM in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Afterward, there will be games in the small square and social moments such as the community lunch, making the festival a perfect occasion for locals and visitors from neighboring towns to meet.
Organized by the parish together with the Pro Loco of Barni and other local associations, the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is one of the most cherished events in the village calendar, set in a mountain corner overlooking Lake Como. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the traditions of the Larian Triangle during the days dedicated to its patron saints.
For the 2026 edition, the celebrations for the patron saints of Barni will take place on the weekend closest to the June 29th feast day: Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026. The program blends religious observances with community gatherings in this charming village in the Triangolo Lariano area.
On Saturday, June 27, at 8:30 PM, the inauguration of the Romanesque church of Saints Peter and Paul will be held following the restoration of its frescoes, attended by local authorities. This will be followed by a concert by the Visino Choir «Maria Mater Ecclesiae», conducted by Maestro Giana. Sunday, June 28, begins with a Solemn Mass featuring the 'faro' ritual at 10:00 AM, followed by traditional wooden games in the square, a community lunch organized by the Pro Loco, the awards ceremony for the «Barni nel Cuore» competition, a raffle draw, and an evening procession through the village streets.
The festival is organized by the parish of Saints Peter and Paul in collaboration with the Barni Pro Loco and other local associations; all proceeds will be donated to the parish for the church's restoration.

10:00 AM: Holy Mass at SS. Peter and Paul with the 'faro' ritual
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Wooden games in the square hosted by the Geppetti association
From 12:30 PM: Lunch in the square hosted by the Pro Loco (reservations with Aisha: 349 1192828). Menu: pasta with cream, saffron, and mushrooms €7, plain pasta €5, salt-crusted roast beef with baked potatoes €10, roast beef €8 (takeaway available)
2:30 PM: Awards ceremony for the «Barni nel Cuore» competition (exhibition of entries from 11:00 AM). Followed by the raffle draw
3:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Opening of the church of SS. Peter and Paul
8:30 PM: Procession through the village streets (Piazza Pio XI, Via Colombo, Via ai Campi, Via Europa, Via Bolgeri, Via B. Bruno, Via Andreoletti, Via Volta, Via Biagio Verri, Via F. Filzi) — decorated in white and red
