The patron saint of Carlazzo, at the gateway to Val Cavargna
Carlazzo is a municipality in the Province of Como located at the entrance of Val Cavargna, in the mountainous hinterland between Lake Como and Lake Lugano. Its patron saint is Saint James the Apostle, celebrated on July 25th, the day the town celebrates its patronal feast.
The occasion revolves around religious celebrations in honor of the apostle, the heart of the festival for a community with alpine traditions. As in many villages in the upper Lario region, the patronal feast is a time that brings together the inhabitants of the various hamlets and keeps the town's identity alive.
In addition to the main town, the municipality includes several hamlets, including Gottro, known for its historic Serassi organ. Nestled among the mountains of the Province of Como, Carlazzo offers the Feast of Saint James a backdrop of nature and mountain tradition, a short distance from the shores of Lake Ceresio and the western bank of Lake Como.
The Patronal Feast of Saint James in Carlazzo, Province of Como, is celebrated on July 25th, 2026, a day dedicated to Saint James the Apostle, the town's patron saint.
