In Pietracatella, a village in the Fortore area of the province of Campobasso, the Patronal Feast of Saint Donatus the Bishop is celebrated on August 7th and is the heart of Pietracatella's summer. A festival that deeply unites the religious dimension with the popular and musical one.
The Maitunate and the Vigil
On the evening of August 6th, the Giuseppe Mignogna Memorial dedicated to the maitunate, the traditional popular songs of the Pietracatella groups, is held: an evening that preserves and passes down one of the most authentic expressions of the town's culture.

On the patron saint's day, August 7th, the solemn Mass, the procession, and, in the evening, the grand musical performance in Piazza Santa Maria take place.
