The eve torchlight procession

The most evocative moment of the festival is the evening of August 6th, when lights and music begin to create a magical atmosphere in the village. The traditional torchlight procession in honor of Saint Donatus Bishop and Martyr accompanies the statue of the saint through the alleys of the historic center: a river of flames winding through stone houses, offering one of the most moving sights in the entire Valle di Comino, amidst prayers, music, and light displays.

The day of the feast

August 7th is the solemn day: masses are held throughout the morning, and the procession carries the statue of the patron through the decorated streets of the town, followed by the community and local authorities. The day continues with concerts and musical entertainment filling the squares, in a popular festive atmosphere that unites different generations. Over the years, the civil program has been enriched with evenings featuring bands and musical tributes, turning the event into a highly anticipated appointment even for the younger crowd.
