About Festival of Saint John the Baptist

Every spring, Rapagnano, a small village in the province of Fermo, gathers around its patron saint John the Baptist with three days of festivities blending devotion, live music, local flavors, and community moments. Organized by the Pro Loco, the festival enlivens the historic center, Parco Gentili, and the G. Emiliani Theater with concerts, food stalls, exhibitions, tournaments, and a solemn procession with the saint's relic accompanied by the Città di Rapagnano Band.

The patronal festival of Rapagnano

In the heart of the Fermo hills, the Municipality of Rapagnano (Province of Fermo, Marche) annually celebrates its patron saint Saint John the Baptist with a festival that is both a religious event and a great moment of gathering for the entire community. Although liturgically celebrated on June 24th, the festivities are traditionally concentrated on a weekend in May, when the village fills with lights, music, and the aromas of local cuisine.

A tradition curated by the Pro Loco

The organization is entrusted to the Pro Loco Rapagnano, which for years has involved the young people of the town and local associations to build a program capable of uniting different generations. The result is an authentic village festival, where the spiritual dimension coexists with the convivial and popular one.

What to expect

  • Food stalls set up at Parco Gentili, featuring specialties of Marche and Fermo cuisine;
  • Concerts and live music in the main square and in the center's spaces, with cover bands, tributes, and Italian music guests;
  • Photography exhibitions dedicated to the town and its history;
  • Sports tournaments and games for children and young people;
  • The solemn procession with the relic of Saint John the Baptist, accompanied by the Città di Rapagnano Band.

The link with the territory

The Patron Saint Festival is one of the most cherished events in the Rapagnano calendar: it represents the occasion when the small village in the Province of Fermo rediscovers its identity, re-establishes bonds between residents and emigrants returning for the occasion, and opens its doors to visitors from the Marche region. Amidst the music of the evenings, the aromas from the stalls, and the rituals of tradition, the festival tells the soul of a town that, despite its intimate size, knows how to transform into a lively and welcoming stage.

Festival of Saint John the Baptist — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Patron Saint John the Baptist Festival took place in Rapagnano from Friday, May 8th to Sunday, May 10th. Among the most anticipated events was the concert by Bobby Solo scheduled for Saturday, May 9th, alongside food stalls, religious events, and the traditional procession with the saint's relic accompanied by the Città di Rapagnano Band.

The 2026 patronal festivities of Rapagnano enlivened the Fermo village from May 8th to 10th, with a program that combined faith, music, and conviviality. The most significant musical event was the concert by Bobby Solo, one of the historic voices of Italian music, held on Saturday, May 9th. Alongside the evening concerts, the festival reprised the traditional events: food stalls with regional specialties, exhibitions, community events, and the solemn Sunday procession with the relic of Saint John the Baptist accompanied by the Città di Rapagnano Band. The organization was, as tradition dictates, handled by Pro Loco Rapagnano.
