A music festival in the greenery of Torre Maura

On June 21st, the summer solstice and the symbolic date of the Music Festival across Europe, the Parco dei Noci - Feliziani Romano in Torre Maura transforms into an open-air stage. We are in the V Municipality of Rome, in the heart of the capital's eastern suburbs and the Lazio Region: an area that has rediscovered music as a powerful tool for identity and social cohesion in recent years.

The event was born from an idea by William School Music, a music school founded in Torre Maura by Fabio and William Feliziani, which named the project Il Respiro della Musica (The Breath of Music). The title is no coincidence: the notes drift into the open air, intertwining with the breeze, the green walnut trees, and the light of the longest day of the year, in a continuous dialogue between nature and human emotion.

The program: bands, vocalists, dance, and performances

The heart of the day is a long afternoon of live music, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On the stage set up among the walnut trees, with the arches of the Roman Aqueduct as a natural backdrop, bands, musicians, and vocalists take turns in a succession of genres and sounds designed to suit all tastes: pop, rock, singer-songwriter, and instrumental moments.

One of the hallmarks of the event is its deeply inclusive nature: students of all ages and levels take the stage, because the organizers' stated goal is for everyone to experience the thrill of performing in front of a real audience. It is not a showcase for already-formed talents, but a collective neighborhood ritual.

A park returned to the neighborhood

The Parco dei Noci - Feliziani Romano is one of the most significant new additions to the area: a green space destined to become a meeting place and a hub for cultural initiatives for Torre Maura. The Music Festival marked its opening to the public, and since then, the solstice appointment has become the moment when the neighborhood reclaims its green lung.

Visitors find a large and diverse crowd: children, families, young people, and the elderly together, sitting on the grass or standing near the stage. The atmosphere is that of a village festival transplanted into the big city, with the unique feature of an archaeological landscape—the arches of the aqueduct—that reminds us how present the history of Rome is, even outside the monumental center.
