Cardboard boats on Lake Idro

The Paper Cup Eridio Lake is one of the most original and fun events of the summer in Anfo, a small village overlooking Lake Idro, in the province of Brescia. The principle is as simple as it is spectacular: teams build their own boats on the spot, using only cardboard, and then compete in a rowing race on the lake waters. The mix of ingenuity, imagination, and improvisation provides moments of great comedy, with some hulls floating and others sinking disastrously.

A day of celebration

The construction of the boats takes up the morning, while the race takes place in the afternoon. At the end of the challenges, the party continues on the shore with happy hour, awards, a Brescian spit-roast dinner, music, and entertainment until the evening. A format that combines sport, camaraderie, and conviviality, which has won over an ever-growing audience.

A beloved event

Organized by the Pro Loco of Anfo with the patronage of the Municipality, the Paper Cup has become a cult event on Lake Idro. In recent editions, registrations sold out in minutes, a sign of the area's affection for this unique challenge, capable of enhancing one of the most picturesque corners of the province of Brescia.
