About Palio di Odolo

The Palio di Odolo is the great popular festival that since 1989 revives the spirit of challenge between the contrade of the town, in the heart of the Brescia's Valle Sabbia. Parades, games, and competitions animate the center of Odolo, involving the various communities of the valley in an event that combines tradition, identity, and fun. A deeply felt appointment, capable of attracting inhabitants and visitors from all over the area to the village.

The Contrade in Challenge

The Palio di Odolo, in the province of Brescia, is the event that since 1989 pits the contrade of the town and the communities of Valle Sabbia against each other. Born as a palio of the contrade, it has involved various districts and locations in the Vrenda stream valley, a tributary of the Chiese, from its inception in a competition that blends competitive spirit and community celebration.

A Festival for the Entire Town

For the day of the palio, the center of Odolo is transformed: parades, games, and contests between the contrade animate the village streets, with such participation that even the diversion of the bus service becomes necessary. It is one of those festivals where an entire town rallies around its traditions, with the colors and emblems of the contrade taking center stage.

Identity of Valle Sabbia

More than just a simple competition, the Palio di Odolo is a moment for rediscovering local identity: a way to pass on to new generations the sense of belonging to the contrade and the community of a village in the middle Valle Sabbia, historically linked to ironworking and the industrious life of its forges.
