The Palco Errante Festival is the summer theater showcase of Labico, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in the heart of the Prenestini Mountains, Lazio. The festival was founded in 2023 by the Labico Youth Forum, in collaboration with the Municipality of Labico. The artistic direction is led by Raffaella Mancini.

How it works: a call for entries, a jury, and a competition

Palco Errante is more than just a showcase. Interested companies respond to an open call published on the festival's official website; a jury then selects the performances admitted to the festival, which officially enter the competition. The final evening features an awards ceremony with various accolades: prizes for acting, directing, and dramaturgy, culminating in the Palco Errante Award for the best performance, which includes a cash prize and a guaranteed repeat performance.

What to expect

The program is intentionally diverse and non-specialized, ranging from prose to musicals, as well as comedy, monologues, and lighter forms of street theater. The companies mainly come from the Lazio region, often representing young or semi-professional groups, giving the festival a sense of discovery.
