The parade of allegorical floats in Prato della Valle
The Padua Carnival chooses Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in Europe, as the stage for its parade of allegorical floats. Masked groups and float builders from various Municipalities in the province of Padua and from other areas of Veneto animate a day of celebration open to all citizens.
The day opens in the morning with the "Coriandoli e Sapori" village: over twenty food trucks distributed in several areas offer sweets, arrosticini, platters, grilled meat, arancini, porchetta, fried fish, and specialties from all over the world, in a wide and diverse gastronomic offering.
The highlight is the afternoon parade, followed by the award ceremony for the float builders' groups. Designed especially for families, the Carnival is organized by the Municipality of Padua together with the Pro Loco Venete.
The 2026 edition of the Padua Carnival takes place on Sunday, February 8th, in Prato della Valle, with a parade of 11 allegorical floats from the province and Veneto. The event is organized by the Municipality of Padua with the Pro Loco Venete; in case of bad weather, it will be postponed to Monday, February 16th.
