The LGBTQIA+ rights procession colours the streets of Padua
Padova Pride is the major city demonstration for LGBTQIA+ rights, which every year transforms the streets of Padua into a colourful river of flags, banners, music, and protests. The meeting point is Piazza Alcide De Gasperi, from which the procession starts, crossing the city centre with a parade, political speeches, artistic performances, and moments of celebration.
The theme of the 2026 edition is "QueerStorm", the title of the political and cultural manifesto accompanying the Pride. "Who isn't afraid of storms?" is the question that opens the manifesto, which examines today's global contextโamidst climate crises, wars, social inequalities, and setbacks in civil rights in various parts of the worldโproposing a "gentle storm" capable of changing things. A demonstration that combines celebration and commitment, protest and culture.
Presented at Palazzo Moroni and organized by the network of associations revolving around Arcigay Tralaltro Padova, along with student networks and other local organizations, Padova Pride is sponsored by the Municipality of Padua and attracts an ever-larger audience. With a parade, stage, DJ sets, and speeches, the day concludes in the square, in a celebration that intertwines rights, community, and visibility in the heart of the Veneto capital.
Padova Pride 2026, on the theme "QueerStorm", took place on Saturday, May 30, starting at 3:00 PM. The procession departed from Piazza Alcide De Gasperi to cross the city centre, featuring a parade, speeches, music, dance, and cultural moments.
