About Origami di Murgia

Origami di Murgia is a new summer festival debuting in 2026 on the Alta Murgia plateau in Corato, near Bari. Three unique evenings at Borgo Sansanello weave together world music, local culinary traditions, and conviviality: from the ancestral sounds of West Africa to hypnotic handpan melodies, culminating in a nomadic Mediterranean experience under the stars of San Lorenzo. Each event is a slow-paced journey featuring live concerts, sunset aperitifs, and buffets paired with fine Apulian wines.

A festival born among the olive groves of the Alta Murgia

Origami di Murgia is a new summer festival debuting in 2026 in Corato, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari overlooking the Alta Murgia plateau in Puglia. The name evokes the delicate art of paper folding: just like an origami, each evening takes shape through the encounter of four essential elements โ€” sound, territory, flavors, and conviviality.

The festival is conceived by Uliveto Grillo in collaboration with Borgo Sansanello, featuring artistic direction by Danny and Francesco Grillo and gastronomic direction by chef Corrado De Ruvo. The goal is to offer a refined, slow-paced alternative to the crowded coastal tourism: here, away from the hustle, the Murgia evenings offer cool temperatures, starry skies, and a limited number of guests for each appointment.

The evening format

Each event follows a specific ritual, designed to guide the audience on a profound journey that lasts the entire evening:

  • 8:00 PM โ€” Guest arrival with a golden-hour aperitif and vinyl DJ set
  • 9:00 PM โ€” Live concert, the artistic heart of the evening
  • 10:30 PM โ€” "Retroscena" (Backstage), a convivial buffet with wine pairings and a chance to meet the musicians
  • From 11:00 PM โ€” Lounge bar with vinyl selections curated by Moodintrigo, under the stars

World music in Corato

The 2026 program consists of three events that span continents and traditions: from the African narratives of the kora to the hypnotic sounds of the handpan, and ancient Mediterranean melodies. Each concert is accompanied by a themed menu that engages with the music, creating a perfect harmony between listening and tasting.

The territory and the Murgia

Located between Corato and the Alta Murgia National Park, Borgo Sansanello is the ideal setting for a festival that makes the landscape a protagonist. The olive trees, the stone, and the vast horizon of the plateau become part of the experience, in an inland Puglia often overlooked by mass tourism but rich in identity. Origami di Murgia thus positions itself as a small cultural laboratory for the town of Corato, capable of uniting international musical research with the enogastronomic enhancement of the Apulian territory.

Origami di Murgia โ€” edition 2026

The inaugural edition of Origami di Murgia unfolds over three evenings at Borgo Sansanello, Corato: Saturday, June 27 with "The Night of the Griots", Friday, July 24 with "Echoes of the East", and Sunday, August 9 with "Nomadic Mediterranean". A musical journey from West Africa to the East and the Mediterranean, accompanied by aperitifs, convivial buffets, and Apulian wine pairings.

The first edition of Origami di Murgia debuts in the summer of 2026 with three events at Borgo Sansanello, in Corato. Under the artistic direction of Danny and Francesco Grillo and with the cuisine of chef Corrado De Ruvo, each evening combines an international concert with a themed menu and the hospitality of the Alta Murgia. The format remains identical for all three dates: sunset aperitif from 8:00 PM, concert at 9:00 PM, "Retroscena" buffet with wines at 10:30 PM, and a vinyl lounge bar to follow. Single ticket price of 50 euros per evening, all-inclusive.
