Organ concert at the Church of Santa Maria ad Nives, the Castel Campagnano stop of the traveling festival in the Alto Casertano region
The Organ Festival is a traveling concert series that crosses the villages of the Alto Casertano, bringing organ music into the historic churches of five municipalities in the province of Caserta: Alvignano, Castel Campagnano, Sepicciano di Piedimonte Matese, Aversa, and Pietramelara. Each concert transforms a place of worship into a concert hall, showcasing the ancient organs preserved within the local ecclesiastical heritage and returning them to the community as living instruments.
In Castel Campagnano, Campania, the stop takes place at the Church of Santa Maria ad Nives: on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 8:00 PM, organist Vincenzo Di Ianni will present a program dedicated to the instrument's diverse expressions, from Baroque pieces to sacred repertoire. Admission is free.
The 2026 edition is divided into two parts, for a total of ten events from May 2 to August 30. The first part, from May to June, visits Alvignano (Santuario dell'Addolorata), Sepicciano di Piedimonte Matese (Church of Santi Marcello e Michele), Aversa (Church of Santi Filippo e Giacomo), and Castel Campagnano, featuring organists such as Antonio Colasurdo, Giovanni Picciafoco, Antonio Frigรจ, Maria Teresa Roncone, and Vincenzo Di Ianni. The second part, in August, focuses on the Church of San Rocco in Pietramelara and is dedicated to the memory of Father Roberto Mitrano.
More than just a series of concerts, the Organ Festival is an invitation to rediscover the organ as the sovereign instrument of sacred music and to explore the artistic and religious heritage of the Alto Casertano. The festival is promoted by the Anna Jervolino Association in collaboration with the Friends of the Organ Association, with the goal of spreading organ culture and enlivening the small villages of the Caserta province with high-quality musical events.
