The historic villas of Brianza open their doors, with Villa Tittoni as the protagonist
Open Villas in Brianza is the cultural event that opens villas, palaces, and historic sites in Brianza and surrounding provinces to the public, coordinated by the Province of Monza and Brianza. The Spring edition offers, over several weekends, dozens of cultural sites distributed across numerous municipalities in four Lombardy provinces, under a unifying theme that serves as a common thread for the program.
In the Spring edition, Desio plays a central role: Villa Cusani Traversi Antona Tittoni — originally a Franciscan convent built in 1651 and later transformed into a noble residence, with neoclassical interventions attributed to Giuseppe Piermarini — is the symbolic villa of the event. The residence hosts the inaugural concert and dedicated exhibitions, becoming a showcase for the historical and artistic heritage of Brianza.
The Open Villas program combines guided tours, concerts, exhibitions, and thematic itineraries, offering the opportunity to enter places that are often inaccessible and to discover their history and architecture. The event, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, enhances the rich heritage of historic residences in Brianza and represents one of the most important cultural appointments in the region.
The 2026 Spring edition of Open Villas in Brianza, the 24th, takes place from May 9 to May 17 and offers 48 cultural sites spread across 35 municipalities in four Lombardy provinces, under the theme 'Stories that Remain'. In Desio, Villa Cusani Traversi Antona Tittoni is the symbolic villa of the event: the inaugural concert, titled 'Flamenco: A Story That Remains', will be held on May 9 at 6:00 PM in the Spazio Stendhal of the villa. Villa Tittoni also hosts an exhibition of works created by students from Brianza schools for the '80th Liberation: 1945-2025' contest, dedicated to the themes of freedom and memory. The event is coordinated by the Province of Monza and Brianza.
