Onano Lentil Festival (PGI)

The 44th edition, August 11-17, 2025

Onano celebrated its "queen of legumes" for a full week with the 44th PGI Lentil Festival, organized by the Pro Loco in the historic center of the municipality, in the Province of Viterbo. The food stalls opened every evening at 7:30 PM in Piazza Pio XII, with musical entertainment starting at 9:30 PM.

Volunteers offered the legume in all its traditional variations—plain with oil, salt, and rosemary, in tomato sauce, with sausage, with baby octopus, in soup with potatoes and carrots, and in the version with mushrooms—alongside lentil and potato gnocchi and Viterbo cuisine dishes such as bruschetta, tortelle, and handmade ombrichelli.

Alongside the food, the week featured concerts and dance nights, performances of theater in the Onano dialect, craft and local product markets, games and tournaments, as well as the Procession of the Assumption on August 15th.
