Olive Oil Festival - EVO in Festa

The fifth edition of the Olive Oil Festival - EVO in Festa brought Sammichele di Bari to life on November 28 and 29, 2025, confirming the Castello Caracciolo as the heart of the event. Under the title «From the Torre Centuriona to the Mill», the program combined the olive oil culture of the Metropolitan City of Bari with the village's rural traditions.

Visitors were able to participate in guided tours of the Sportelli and IAMA mills, visit tasting stands featuring monocultivar oils and local specialties, attend an oil tasting course, and watch showcooking dedicated to local cuisine, including onion pie and 'focaccia a libro'. There was also space for children with creative workshops and visits to the «Dino Bianco» Museum of Rural Civilization.

A central moment of the two-day event was the «Towards Evolio Expo 2026» conference, hosted on Friday, November 28, in the hall of the Castello Caracciolo, featuring the presentation of the Mediterranean EVO oil fair scheduled at the Fiera del Levante in Bari. The initiative was carried out with the involvement of the National Association of Oil Cities, the Puglia Region, the Pro Loco, the Slow Food Presidium, and Assoproli.
