About Ognuno a Modo Suo

Ognuno a Modo Suo - Sport Without Barriers is Rome's premier event dedicated to Paralympic sports and universal accessibility, organized by the Tetrabondi Foundation at Parco Schuster in the San Paolo district. It is a free, inclusive day where people with and without disabilities can try over twenty adapted sports—from wheelchair basketball and fencing to surfing and blind baseball—alongside sensory workshops, sign language courses, live music, and performances. An event that turns the park into an open space where sport is a right for everyone.

Ognuno a Modo Suo: sport as a right for all

Ognuno a Modo Suo - Sport Without Barriers is the annual event that transforms Rome's Parco Schuster every May into a vast open space dedicated to adapted sports, participation, and universal accessibility. Promoted by the Tetrabondi ETS Foundation, the event was launched in 2022 with a simple yet powerful vision: sport is not a privilege, but a right that belongs to everyone, without distinction. Located in the San Paolo district, at the foot of the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, the festival attracts families, athletes, associations, and curious visitors every year for a true celebration of inclusion.

Over twenty disciplines to try for free

The heart of the day is the open trial: anyone can explore the park and try their hand at over twenty Paralympic and adapted sports, guided by athletes and instructors. Options range from wheelchair basketball and rugby to fencing, archery, athletics, accessible skateboarding with a WCMX ramp, adapted surfing, boccia, and para taekwondo, as well as joelettes, tricycles, frame runners, and moto-therapy.

  • Disciplines for blind and visually impaired individuals: baseball, showdown, tai chi chuan, surfing, and fencing with blindfolds, to learn how to orient oneself using the sound of a sonic ball.
  • Wheelchair School and an accessible skatepark to take your first steps in safety.
  • Table tennis, foosball, integrated football, pole dance, and dance.

More than just sports: workshops, culture, and entertainment

Alongside the playing fields, the event offers a rich program of activities: Italian Sign Language (LIS) workshops, tactile games and books, a sensory area, danceability, pet therapy, and educational sessions on road safety and visual impairment. There is also no shortage of theatrical performances, live music, and short film screenings, with constant attention to accessibility guaranteed by LIS interpreters, subtitles, and a dedicated safe zone.

A community project in the heart of Rome

The choice of Parco Schuster is no coincidence: located just steps from the metro station, the Roma Tre University, and the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, the park is a symbolic landmark of the district, returned to the city as an inclusive space. The initiative, supported by numerous Lazio volunteer organizations and the Roman sports community, has grown edition after edition to become a national benchmark for barrier-free sports. In Rome, Lazio, Ognuno a Modo Suo proves that when inclusion becomes a shared experience, it can change everyone's perspective.
