The Notte in Bianco in Pontinia is the summer event that transforms the town center, located in the province of Latina and the heart of Lazio, into a massive open-air party. From sunset until late at night, shutters stay up, shop windows glow, and sidewalks turn into stages. It is the classic «white night» formula, well-established in many Italian cities, here adapted with the simple and welcoming identity of the Pontine plains.

Though only a few editions old, it has already become a highly anticipated tradition. The event is a collaboration between the P.cap merchants' association, the Pro Loco, and the municipal administration, which includes it every year in the Estate Pontiniana program.

The center becomes a festive trail

The distinctive feature of the Pontinia Notte in Bianco is its widespread geography: not just one stage, but many lively spots that light up simultaneously. Zones involved in recent editions have included:

• Via Cavour and Piazza Indipendenza, the city's living room;
• Via Cesare Battisti and Via Filippo Corridoni, with their local businesses;
• the Water Tower, an architectural symbol of the city's founding;
• the Marconi and Pasubio shopping centers;
• Via Napoli and Viale Italia.

Connecting the various hubs is the tourist train, which featured nine stops in the 2025 edition: hop on, hop off where the music catches your ear, and move around without worrying about parking. It is a detail that has made the evening particularly convenient for families and visitors from neighboring towns.

What to find on the streets

Every business and association offers something different, so the atmosphere changes at every corner: DJ sets and live music, group dancing, dance performances, entertainment for children, foam parties, exhibitions, creative workshops, craft stalls, and above all, tastings of local products. Bars and restaurants extend their hours and fill their outdoor seating areas, while shops offer special openings and promotions designed for the occasion.

On the same night, around the Water Tower, the Tower Festival usually takes place—a showcase of electronic music and visual arts curated by local cultural groups. Those seeking a more experimental atmosphere will find their spot here, just a few steps away from the popular festivities.

Pontinia, a city of foundation

It is worth arriving a little early to look around. Pontinia is one of the foundation cities of the Agro Pontino, inaugurated in 1935 after the draining of the marshes. Piazza Indipendenza, the church of Sant'Anna, the town hall, and the famous Water Tower tell the story of a rationalist urban layout that has remained largely intact. Walking through the center during the Notte in Bianco therefore also means crossing a piece of 20th-century Italian history, all dressed up for the party.

The municipal territory extends to Lake Fogliano and the edges of the Circeo National Park, while the surrounding countryside is one of the most productive in Lazio, famous for buffalo mozzarella, kiwis, and vegetables. It is no surprise that the food tastings are among the most appreciated attractions of the evening.

A free event for everyone

Admission is free and no booking is required: just arrive, park in the designated areas on the outskirts of the center, and join the flow of the party. The formula, designed to support local commerce, attracts thousands of people every year from the towns in the province of Latina—from Sabaudia and Terracina to Latina city—confirming the Notte in Bianco as one of the most iconic events of the Pontine summer.
