The Night of Notes at the Abbey is a special event at the Abbey of Morimondo (Province of Milan), also known as "The candlelit monastery". It is a guided night tour of the scriptorium of the Cistercian complex, accompanied by live medieval music performed on the harp and vielle, instruments typical of the ancient repertoire.
Art, history, and ancient music
The scriptorium was the place where monks copied and illuminated manuscripts: visiting it at night, lit by candles and immersed in the sounds of medieval music, restores the monastery's serene and spiritual atmosphere. The tour combines the narration of the abbey's history and monastic life with listening to ancient music, in a journey that engages all the senses.

Organized by the Fondazione Abbatia Sancte Marie de Morimundo, the Night of Notes is an intimate and fascinating experience, designed for a small and attentive audience. It is part of the Abbey of Morimondo's rich calendar of cultural initiatives, which offers concerts, tours, and meetings dedicated to the enhancement of the monastic heritage, in the evocative setting of the Ticino Park.
