About New Year's Concert
A Tradition Spanning Over Forty Years
The New Year's Concert is one of the most deeply rooted musical events in Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza. Founded in 1984, every January it brings the Lorenzo Da Ponte Chamber Orchestra to the Church of San Francesco to welcome the new year with great classical music.
An Orchestra of European Musicians
Conducted by Maestro Roberto Zarpellon, the Lorenzo Da Ponte Orchestra brings together musicians from prestigious ensembles in the Central European area, playing on period instruments. The program ranges from the great composers of the classical repertoire, from Mozart to Beethoven, from Rameau to Brahms and Tchaikovsky.
A Concert for the Entire City
Promoted by the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa, the concert offers free admission (with a ticket to be collected at the IAT tourist office) and concludes the city's Christmas festivities, confirming itself as a moment of great popular participation in the heart of the Palladian city.
New Year's Concert — edition 2026
As per consolidated tradition, the New Year's Concert by the Lorenzo Da Ponte Chamber Orchestra is also expected at the beginning of 2026 in the Church of San Francesco in Bassano del Grappa, under the direction of Maestro Roberto Zarpellon.
At the time of writing, the precise date and program for the 2026 edition are being finalized: the event is generally held in the first days of January, concluding the city's Christmas festivities.

The Church of San Francesco is located in Piazza Garibaldi, in the historic center of Bassano del Grappa, reachable by train and car via the SP248.
Admission
Free admission with a ticket to be collected at the Bassano IAT Office (Piazza Garibaldi). It is advisable to collect your ticket in advance.
