New Perspectives for Winemaking Conference — Il Monastero in Sampeyre

In June 2025, the Il Monastero cultural center and laboratory came to life in Sampeyre, in the province of Cuneo. Housed in the former convent of the Villaretto hamlet, it was inaugurated on June 7, 2025. The restoration of the historic building, made possible by a contribution from the Piedmont Region through the Rural Development Program, also allowed for the redevelopment of the hamlet and the surrounding road network.

Conceived as a space for cultural initiatives and the promotion of local products, the center immediately became a reference point for activities related to food, wine, and the promotion of historical viticulture in the upper Varaita Valley, paving the way for meetings and conferences on mountain wine in the following years.
