Five days of fanfares, parades, and remembrance
In May 2026, Lignano Sabbiadoro hosts the National Rally of the Bersaglieri, one of the most heartfelt gatherings in the Italian military and association world. For five days, the Friulian seaside town welcomes thousands of Bersaglieri, the historic running fanfares, and the many enthusiasts who follow this Army specialty, famous for its characteristic running pace and feathered plume.
The 2026 edition has a special meaning: it is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Friuli earthquake, in memory of the tireless work with which the Bersaglieri brought aid to the affected populations. A deep bond between the Corps and this land, making the rally a moment of remembrance as well as celebration.
The program alternates spectacular moments and solemn ceremonies: from the inaugural concert at Parco San Giovanni Bosco to commemorative ceremonies, up to the grand final running parade along the center and seafront of Lignano, the true culmination of the gathering. The fanfares, with their rousing music, accompany the days, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere.
With approximately 8,000 Bersaglieri expected from all over Italy and abroad, the rally is also a great opportunity for meetings and fraternity among comrades and families. For Lignano Sabbiadoro, it is a nationally significant event, capable of animating the city at the beginning of the pleasant season and renewing the bond between the community and the Bersaglieri Corps.
The 73rd National Bersaglieri Rally brings to Lignano Sabbiadoro, from May 27 to 31, 2026, approximately 8,000 Bersaglieri from all over Italy and abroad. Five days of tradition, fanfares, parades, and moments of remembrance, with an edition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Friuli earthquake.
Throughout the five days, there will be alternating fanfares, parades, and commemorative moments dedicated to the memory of the 1976 Friuli earthquake.
Lignano Sabbiadoro is reachable from the A4 motorway (Latisana exit) and the SS354. The events are concentrated at Parco San Giovanni Bosco, in the town center, and along the seafront.
The ceremonies and the parade are free for the public.
Given the large attendance, it is advisable to book accommodation well in advance.
