Christmas markets, lights and exhibitions for the holidays in the historic center
Under the name Un Natale Insieme, the Municipality of Perugia enlivens the historic center throughout the holiday season, from the opening on the Black Friday weekend until Epiphany. The city's main street, Corso Vannucci, hosts the Christmas markets, while in Piazza IV Novembre, the large tree stands tall next to the Fontana Maggiore.
Among the most popular attractions are the ice skating rink set up in Piazza Italia and the small train for children in Piazza Matteotti. The festive lights, concerts from panoramic terraces, and various initiatives transform the Perugian acropolis into a charming Christmas setting.
In the underground heart of the city, the 16th-century Rocca Paolinaโa fortress commissioned by Pope Paul III Farnese and now an exhibition space (C.E.R.P.)โhosts Natale alla Rocca, the market exhibition dedicated to quality crafts and artistic trades, featuring decorations, design objects, creative recycling, and gastronomic specialties. There's also space for children with theatrical performances, creative workshops, and Santa Claus. To top it all off, the delicious events of Dolcissima Perugia, dedicated to artisanal sweets. A Christmas that blends tradition, craftsmanship, and the sweet vocation of Perugia, the city of chocolate in Umbria.
