About Musical Weeks

The Musical Weeks at the Olympic Theatre bring some of the greatest international classical music performers to Vicenza every spring. Founded in 1988, the festival organized by the Società del Quartetto di Vicenza combines symphonic and chamber concerts in Palladio's masterpiece and other historic venues in the city, with a different theme each year and constant attention to young talents through the Lamberto Brunelli Piano Competition.

Classical music in the heart of Palladio

The Musical Weeks at the Olympic Theatre are one of the most prestigious events of the Venetian musical season. Organized by the Società del Quartetto di Vicenza, they offer a program of symphonic concerts, chamber music, and recitals by internationally renowned performers every spring.

The festival venues

The heart of the event is the Olympic Theatre, a masterpiece by Andrea Palladio and a UNESCO World Heritage site, joined by other historic venues in Vicenza: the Teatro Comunale, the Teatro San Marco, Palazzo Chiericati, Palazzo Thiene, the Loggia del Capitaniato, the Gallerie d'Italia, and the Church of San Vincenzo. A geography of places that makes the festival a journey through the beauty of the city of Vicenza.

Space for young talents

A well-established tradition of the festival is the Lamberto Brunelli National Piano Competition, a showcase for young piano talents, and the Giovani Project, which brings emerging musicians to perform in city venues. The festival takes place in Vicenza, in the Veneto region, between April and June.
