Choruses and orchestras from Northern Europe on the shores of Lake Garda
Every year, in June, San Felice del Benaco, on the Brescia shore of Lake Garda, becomes the meeting point between two musical worlds. Music from the North โ also known as Harmonies from the North โ brings choirs and orchestras from Northern Europe to the lake shore, in a festival that celebrates the dialogue between Northern European and Italian traditions. Founded in 2006, it is now a firmly established event in the Garda calendar.
The idea behind the festival is simple and powerful: music can weave invisible threads of understanding and shared experience, beyond language barriers. Different styles and repertoires meet on stage, in a convergence of voices and instruments that resonates among the olive trees and the waters of the lake. For the audience, it is an opportunity for listening and discovery, but also for pure pleasure, in a natural setting of rare beauty.
What makes Music from the North special is precisely the contrast: ensembles accustomed to the climates and sounds of Northern Europe find themselves performing in the Mediterranean landscape of Garda, between the green of the olive trees and the blue of the lake. It is an encounter that enhances both the music and the territory of San Felice del Benaco, in the province of Brescia, offering visitors a cultural experience outside the usual lake tourism.
Organised by Agenzia Il Pentagramma di Garda, a tour operator specialising in musical ensembles, the festival offers free admission: concerts are open to everyone, residents and tourists. A gift to the community and visitors to Garda, who can enjoy performances by international groups every summer without a ticket, simply by letting the music guide them.
From 23 to 25 June 2026, Music from the North returns to San Felice del Benaco, on the Brescia shore of Lake Garda. For three days, choirs and orchestras from Northern Europe will perform in a festival celebrating the dialogue between the musical traditions of Northern Europe and Italy.
