Three evenings of jazz near Lake Garda
Every year, at the beginning of September, the Lonato Jazz Festival enlivens the heart of Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia, with three evenings dedicated to jazz music. The festival has chosen the charming Piazzetta Vittorio Emanuele II, in the historic center of the lakeside town, as its home. This space, as evening falls, becomes a small open-air club.
The festival is the result of a collaboration between the Municipality of Lonato del Garda and the Caligola Association, a Venetian entity with extensive experience in producing and promoting jazz. The outcome is a lineup that alternates established names on the national scene with young talents, ranging from solo piano to big bands, from sophisticated improvisation to jazz with a broader, more melodic scope.
Each evening features a different concert, designed to offer a varied overview of styles and languages: a formula that has won over both enthusiasts and those new to the genre, also thanks to the completely free admission.
The Lonato Jazz Festival is much more than just a music festival: it's an opportunity to experience the historic center of Lonato in one of its most charming guises, amidst the alleys and squares of the town, a short distance from Lake Garda and its hills. The event is part of a rich calendar of summer events that the Municipality dedicates to music, culture, and entertainment, and it represents one of the most anticipated events of the late Garda summer.
If you love jazz and are looking for a different kind of evening on Lake Garda, the September evenings in Lonato are an invitation to sit in the square, let yourself be carried away by the music, and discover a corner of Lombardy that knows how to make itself heard.
The 2026 edition of the Lonato Jazz Festival is scheduled from Sunday, September 6 to Tuesday, September 8, 2026, once again in the setting of Piazzetta Vittorio Emanuele II in the historic center of Lonato del Garda. The collaboration with the Caligola Association, which oversees the artistic direction of the festival, is confirmed.
As is tradition, the evenings begin in the evening (9:00 PM) with free admission.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including artist names, will be announced by the organization in the weeks leading up to the event. As in previous editions, the structure includes three consecutive evenings with one concert each, ranging from solo piano to larger ensembles.
Lonato del Garda is located along the A4 Milan-Venice highway (exit Desenzano-Sirmione or Brescia Est). Lonato train station is on the Milan-Venice line. Piazzetta Vittorio Emanuele II is located in the historic center.
All concerts are free admission. Concerts generally start at 9:00 PM.
