An Afternoon of Chamber Music at the Castle

The Hall of Honour of the Castle of San Giorgio Piacentino, in the heart of Val Nure in the province of Piacenza, hosts a refined chamber concert dedicated to the dialogue between piccolo, flute, and piano. The event is part of the Piacenza Classica Festival and is promoted by the cultural portal Piacenza Music Pride, a non-profit project by the Kastaproject association created to enhance the musical scene of the Piacenza area.

Three International-Level Performers

The star of the evening is Francesco Guggiola, piccolo player of the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and the Filarmonica della Scala, among the few Italian specialists to bring the piccolo to the center of the solo repertoire. With him are flutist Giulia Pedone and pianist Ivan Maliboshka, a recurring presence in the chamber music series at the Castle of San Giorgio. The ensemble, which alternates piccolo, flute, and piano in various combinations, allows for the exploration of unusual repertoire, from brilliant virtuosity to more intimate atmospheres.
