The 100% made in Italy market in the heart of Val Trebbia
Every year, on the occasion of Mother's Day, the historic center of Rivergaro hosts one of the most anticipated stops on the Mercanti di Qualità circuit, the initiative that brings selected artisan and producer stalls to the squares of the municipalities in the province of Piacenza, in Emilia-Romagna. For an entire day, the village squares fill with colors, scents, and gift ideas, offering the perfect opportunity to celebrate Mom and take a stroll along the Trebbia river.
The exhibitors, about forty in number and from various Italian provinces, exclusively offer 100% made in Italy products. The market is a showcase of quality craftsmanship and food and wine, with a wide variety of offerings:
The market is promoted by the Consorzio Mercanti di Qualità, an association founded within Confcommercio Piacenza and chaired by Gloriana Tironi, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rivergaro. The event is part of a calendar of Sundays in May that also includes other municipalities in Val Trebbia and the Piacenza plain, such as Agazzano, Gossolengo, Travo, and Caorso. For the municipal administration, it is an event capable of fostering the community and enhancing the village and its territory.
Overlooking the banks of the Trebbia river, Rivergaro is one of the most characteristic centers in the province of Piacenza, appreciated for its riverside promenade and the surrounding hilly landscape. The market day is the ideal opportunity to combine quality shopping with a walk through the village and the discovery of the traditions and flavors of Val Trebbia.
The 2026 edition took place on Sunday, May 10, one of the Sundays in the May calendar for the Quality Merchants in the municipalities of the province of Piacenza. The squares in the center of Rivergaro welcomed stalls of artisans and producers with clothing items, floral gifts, home decor, and gastronomic specialties, all strictly made in Italy.
As highlighted by the municipal administration, the event confirms itself as a regular appointment that fosters the community and offers an opportunity to discover the village along the Trebbia river. The day, with free admission, combined quality shopping with the festive atmosphere of Mother's Day.
On Mother's Day Sunday, all day. Market stalls are generally open from morning until evening.
