The great vintage motor market in early September

The Mostrascambio of Gambettola is one of the best-known antique and collectible fairs in Romagna and is held twice a year: the second weekend of May and the first weekend of September. The September edition closes the Romagna summer, bringing back to the Municipality of Gambettola, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, the usual extraordinary market that winds along about four kilometers of streets and squares in the historic center: corso Mazzini, viale Carducci, via Gramsci, via Garibaldi, via Don Minzoni, via Matteotti, up to Foro Boario, Pertini, and Cavour squares.

What to find among the stalls

The heart of the event remains linked to the world of vintage engines: historic cars and motorcycles, spare parts and accessories for collectible vehicles, the result of Gambettola's deep-rooted tradition of recovering and recycling used materials. Over the years, the offer has expanded to include all collectibles and modern antiques. Among the hundreds of stalls, you can find:

• antique furniture, gramophones, and typewriters;
• vinyl records, watches, coins, stamps, and magazines;
• scientific instruments, radio equipment, and work tools;
• military uniforms, lace, embroidery, and household items;
• every kind of curiosity and vintage collectible piece.

A tradition that started in 1988

The first edition was held on May 8, 1988, on the initiative of the then councilor for economic activities, with a few stalls of car and motorcycle parts along viale Carducci. Since then, the Mostrascambio has grown to become a fixed double event on the Romagna calendar, capable of attracting thousands of visitors. The September 2025 edition, the 73rd, was held on September 6 and 7 with about 600 exhibitors, while the May 2026 edition marked the 74th: the autumn appointment in September 2026 therefore represents a new chapter in this long history.

More than a market

In addition to buying and selling, the Mostrascambio is a true village festival. The official inauguration traditionally takes place on Saturday morning, while in piazza Foro Boario there are special exhibitions of historic cars, motorcycles, and vehicles. Around the monument to the fallen, in piazza Cavour, an area dedicated to children is set up, where the little ones can engage in exchanges and bartering thanks to the volunteers of the local Avis section. The organization is managed by the Mostrascambio Gambettola Committee, with the patronage of the Municipality, and admission is always free.
