Edition 2025 — Mosciarella Festival

The 44th Mosciarella Festival took place on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in Capranica Prenestina, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. A day dedicated to the dried chestnuts of the Prenestini Mountains, featuring a hike in the chestnut grove, a culinary trail, and a re-enactment of the ancient processing, with traditional music and activities for children in the heart of one of Italy's most beautiful villages.

The 44th edition

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, Capranica Prenestina hosted the 44th Mosciarella Festival, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The day opened with a guided hike in the chestnut grove organized by the Civic Naturalistic Museum, followed at noon by the culinary trail through the village alleys.

The menu, dedicated to the chestnut, featured chickpea soup with chestnut croutons, polenta with sauce and sausage, braised beef in Cesanese wine with broccoli and potato flan, and a chestnut dessert. In the afternoon, the re-enactment of the ancient mosciarella processing system took place, accompanied by traditional music and activities designed for children. Admission to the Civic Naturalistic Museum was free for participants.

Programme

9:30 AM — Guided hike in the chestnut grove by the Civic Naturalistic Museum. 12:30 PM — Opening of the culinary trail through the village alleys, with a chestnut-based menu: chickpea soup with chestnut croutons, polenta with sauce and sausage, braised beef in Cesanese wine with broccoli and potato flan, and a chestnut dessert. 3:00 PM — Re-enactment of the ancient mosciarella processing system, with traditional music and activities for children. Free admission to the Civic Naturalistic Museum for participants.
