About Montegrappa Trophy
The Great Free Flight over Grappa
The Montegrappa Trophy is one of the most important paragliding competitions in Italy, included in the FAI Category 2 calendar. The operational base is in Romano d'Ezzelino, on the outskirts of Bassano del Grappa (province of Vicenza), in the heart of a flying area that extends over the Veneto-Friulian foothills and the northeastern Alps.
An International Challenge
The race brings together pilots from numerous countries, called to compete in a series of tasks (flight tests) along routes traced across the territory. The rankings reward different classes — Overall, Serial, Sport, and Women — and live tracking, mandatory for score validation, allows the competition to be followed in real-time.
Organization and Territory
Organized by Aero Club Lega Piloti and ASD Volo Libero Montegrappa, the Montegrappa Trophy is also a showcase for the territory: the skies of Grappa offer ideal conditions for distance flying and a spectacular setting between the Asolo Hills and the Vicenza hills. An event that combines sport, technique, and passion for free flight.
Montegrappa Trophy — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Montegrappa Trophy will be held from April 1 to 6, with its base in Romano d'Ezzelino (via Benedetto Marcello), on the outskirts of Bassano del Grappa.
The competition, of international significance and included in the FAI Category 2 calendar, includes registration on April 1, a mandatory safety briefing on April 2, and a series of tasks from Thursday to Monday, concluding with the final rankings and awards ceremony. The flying area covers the Veneto-Friulian foothills and the northeastern Alps.

How to get there
The race base is in Romano d'Ezzelino (via Benedetto Marcello), near Bassano del Grappa, reachable by car from the foothills road. Bassano is served by the train station and the A31 Valdastico / SS47 Valsugana highway.
Participation
Competition reserved for registered licensed pilots. Registration, tracking, and rankings via the Airtribune platform; trackers are provided by the organization.
