Above Menaggio, the jewel of the western shore of Lake Como in the province of Como, rises Monte Crocetta, a scenic peak accessible by trails leading up from the town. Here, in July, an outdoor festival takes place, combining the devotional aspect linked to the small church of San Maurizio with the hiking experience, in a location also marked by the historical traces of the Cadorna Line, the fortified system from World War I.
