Edition 2025 — Mondina and Fried Quartuccio Festival

In 2025, the Mondina and Fried Quartuccio Festival enlivened the village of Bargecchia (Massarosa, Lucca) as it does every year for three weekends in October. Organized by the Croce Verde Collinare and the AVIS of Bargecchia, the edition re-proposed the rich menu of hillside tradition and musical evenings in the square, confirming the success of an event that has been active continuously since 1975.

The 2025 edition of the Mondina and Fried Quartuccio Festival took place in Bargecchia, a village in the Municipality of Massarosa, in the Province of Lucca, over three weekends in October. The festival re-proposed the dishes that have made it famous for nearly half a century: mondine (roasted chestnuts), fried quartuccio with prosciutto, tordelli with meat sauce, zuppa alla frantoiana, tripe, and roast beef. The kitchens opened every evening at 7:30 PM, followed by musical entertainment in the square. As per tradition, the proceeds supported the volunteer activities of the Pubblica Assistenza Croce Verde Collinare and the AVIS of Bargecchia.
