MOH Modugno Comic Con

An open-air village of comics and cosplay

The MOH Modugno Comic Con is a pop culture event that brings the heart of Modugno, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia, to life. For one day, the streets and squares of the town center turn into a vast open-air village filled with color, imagination, art, and entertainment, where fans of comics, manga, cartoons, games, and video games gather alongside cosplayers, hobbyists, and local associations.

Comics, games, and pop culture

The festival highlights comic book shops and exhibitors, offering volumes, gadgets, illustrations, and collectibles, but the experience goes far beyond shopping. Over the years, the event has hosted association areas dedicated to gaming and fantasy, spaces for board games, meet-ups with regional cosplayers, and themed displays, such as the famous armor created by Marvel fans. It is an event designed for all ages, bridging the gap between younger fans and families.

Cosplay competition and music

The beating heart of the day is the cosplay competition, where participants parade in elaborate costumes inspired by characters from anime, manga, video games, and cinema. The program is enriched by K-pop dance performances, stage shows in the square, and evening concerts that close the event with music, extending the festivities into the night.

A grassroots project

MOH Modugno Comic Con is organized by Ideazione and Fumetteria Smallville, in collaboration with the City of Modugno. Originally launched as the city's first comic and cosplay fair, it has grown over the years into a highly anticipated date in the Puglian summer calendar, offering free admission and deep roots within the local community. The layout, which occupies Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza Sedile, Corso Umberto, and the spaces of the Town Hall, allows visitors to experience the historic center in a fresh and engaging way.

The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the event is traditionally held in September.
