Massimo Ranieri kicks off the Milazzo Summer Festival at the Milazzo Castle Theater
The Municipality of Milazzo, a fortified city overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea in the province of Messina, Sicily, has chosen a major star to open its summer program: Massimo Ranieri is the first headliner of the 2026 Milazzo Summer Festival, performing on Saturday, August 29, at the Milazzo Castle Theater. This date also marks the start of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter's new tour, which includes only two stops in Sicily: Milazzo and, the following day, Catania.
The recital, titled "Tutti i giorni ancora in volo e continuano a volare", is a journey through Ranieri's long career, blending singing, acting, famous hits, personal anecdotes, and moments of lightheartedness. The show weaves together the artist's historic successes with new songs written for him by prominent Italian songwriters such as Pino Donaggio, Ivano Fossati, Bruno Lauzi, and Giuliano Sangiorgi, with musical production by Gino Vannelli. The setlist also features "Lettera di là dal mare," the song that won the Critics' Award at the 2022 Sanremo Festival. Ranieri will be accompanied on stage by a live ensemble of musicians.
The concert takes place within the fortified Citadel of Milazzo, where an open-air grandstand with approximately 2,000 seats is set up every summer. The fortress, which dominates the Milazzo promontory, is one of the most scenic venues in Sicily for live music and has hosted the major events of the Milazzo Summer Festival for years.
The Milazzo Summer Festival is the summer series promoted by the municipal administration of Milazzo, bringing concerts, theater, family shows, and major events to the city every year. The Massimo Ranieri concert is one of the highlights of the 2026 edition, a season that confirms Milazzo's role as one of the cultural hubs of the Messina area.
