Dances and music from UNESCO intangible heritage, a bridge between cultures, in the symbolic places of Padua
The Meridiani Paralleli Festival is a Padua-based event dedicated to the dances and music from the intangible heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO. Produced by the Duendarte association in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Padua, the festival creates a dialogue between art and territory, bringing nationally and internationally renowned artists to the city and spreading performances across some of the most evocative locations in the city center.
The heart of the event is flamenco, recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity since 2010, presented as a living form of dialogue and encounter between cultures. Around it, the program features dance performances accompanied by live music, concerts, guided tours, and workshops, highlighting the expressive power of dance and the richness of traditions from distant peoples.
The event is ideally linked to the recognition of Padua Urbs Picta โ the 14th-century fresco cycles declared a UNESCO World Heritage site โ creating a common thread between the city's tangible heritage and the intangible heritage of world dances and music. The artistic direction is curated by Marta Roverato. An event that makes Padua a crossroads of cultures, where the beauty of art becomes a tool for connection.
The fifth edition of the Meridiani Paralleli Festival takes place in Padua from March 1st to April 19th, 2026, with eight events featuring performances, concerts, guided tours, and workshops, hosted in some of the city's most significant locations โ from the historic center to contemporary cultural spaces.
The festival, produced by the Duendarte association with the Municipality of Padua, is dedicated to the dances and music of UNESCO's intangible heritage of humanity, with artistic direction by Marta Roverato.
