The music, performing arts, and culture festival in the lakeside village
Mergozzo si nota is a cultural event that, since 2016, has been lighting up the small town of Mergozzo with music and performances. Located on the shores of the lake of the same name in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province of Piedmont, the festival was born from the initiative of a group of friends. It has since grown into one of the most deeply rooted and popular cultural experiences in the region, attracting a loyal audience and hosting artists of national and international acclaim.
In 2026, the festival celebrates its tenth anniversary: ten years of concerts, shows, and gatherings that have transformed a spontaneous idea into a recognized event. To mark the occasion, the faces and memories of this decade are showcased in a commemorative exhibition held in the Porticato delle Cappelle, one of the festival's iconic venues in the heart of the old village.
The unique feature of Mergozzo si nota is that it never stops. The festival is divided into two complementary parts:
The festival is promoted by the Mergozzo si nota Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Mergozzo, the Parish, and the Fondazione Comunitaria del VCO. This support network perfectly reflects the spirit of the event: a high-quality festival that remains deeply connected to its community and the territory of the Ossola and Lake Maggiore area.
The ideal setting for the festival is the village of Mergozzo itself, considered one of the most beautiful in the Verbano area: the lakeside promenade, the ancient elm tree, the narrow streets of the historic center, and the small, swimmable lake create an intimate and cozy atmosphere where music dialogues with the landscape. An experience that combines listening, discovery, and natural beauty.
The 2026 edition of Mergozzo si nota marks an important milestone: the ten years of the festival, which was born in 2016 from the idea of a group of friends and has grown to host artists of national and international renown. To celebrate the anniversary, an exhibition dedicated to the faces and memories of this decade is set up in the Porticato delle Cappelle, in the heart of the village overlooking Lake Mergozzo, in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province.
The detailed program for the 2026 summer season, including dates, artists, and concert venues, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event. As per tradition, the events will take place in the most evocative spots of the village, with numerous free-entry events.
The detailed program for the 2026 summer edition, including the concert calendar, artists, and venues, has not yet been published at the time of writing. It will be announced by the Mergozzo si nota Association in the weeks preceding the event.
For the tenth anniversary, a commemorative exhibition is already confirmed, set up in the Porticato delle Cappelle, which retraces the faces and memories of ten years of the festival. For program updates, you can check the festival's social media pages or email [email protected].
Mergozzo is located in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola area, along the Milan-Simplon axis. By car, it can be reached via the A26 motorway (Verbania or Gravellona Toce exit). By train, the reference station is Verbania-Pallanza or Mergozzo (Domodossola-Milan line), with connections by bus or car.
Many events during the summer season are free of charge. For "off-season" events, reservations are generally required via the festival's social media pages or by emailing [email protected].
Take advantage of the day to explore the village, swim in Lake Mergozzo (one of the cleanest in Italy), and visit the Granite and Ring Museum.
